hello all. i working setup windows deployment solution in our department. requirements functionality below. -one image each os version      -windows 7 x64      -windows 7 x86      -windows xp x86 sp3      -windows server 2008 r2 x64 -injected boot critical drivers , date driver store computer models -self-updating images using dism add packages each image i using wds server hold images in conjunction wsus server maintain updates. of objectives have been completed, unhappy way maintaining updates apply each image. currently, i am using a (self-made.. probaly not using best methods) batch file copy updates wsus server wds server. folder structure copies on wsus server has many subfolders of updates inside of them. /add-package command included in dism not let me add packages in different subfolders , did not see way around this. wrote additional commands take of updates out of subfolders , delete empty subfolders. solution working, each time hit wsus server co

i have new 2008 domain 2 domain controllers. trying join 2003 r2 enterprise server , 2008 enterprise server domain through firewall. i have allowed tcp ports 53, 88, 135, 139, 326, 389, 445, 636, 3269 i have allowed udp ports 53, 88, 123, 137,138, 389, 445   i ran in trouble , error messages when attempting join domain. turns out that there bunch of dynamic rpc ports need allowed , analyzing firewall traffic, have identified tcp dynamic rpc ports server using. have temporarily allowed 20 ports in sequence windows using them , able join domain successfully.   the dynamic rpc ports windows uses initially begin @ random port, seem increment sequentially once start. i configure windows use rpc ports. found following 2 microsoft kb articles http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908472  and http://support.microsoft.com/kb/154596  . suggest use rpccfg.exe tool relocate , reduce rpc dynamic port range.   my problem/question know how many dynamic rpc ports should open on firewall. kee

dear microsoft support, as mentioned in title, i have 2 domains. 1 domain @ hq. other 1 domain @ branch office. laptop having win 7 pro os client of domain a. domain has exchange server 2003. users of domain b connected exchange server email services. in clients of domain b, ip address of email server added in c:\windows\system 32\drivers\etc\host file. whereas in clients of domain not done, because servers including email server belong domain a. now, user domain a's client (it laptop) came branch office , wanted access outlook (using outlook web access). since there no ip address added in host file of laptop, connectivity email not possible. when try add ip address, not able due domain a's security reasons. so, let me know, there way out add ip address in host file of domain a's client. thanks in advance. ravi sekhar modukuru i suggest adding mailserver address in domain b's dns. possible?

why  server 2012 essential stops installing windows logo , cicling blue dots? i'm using hp dl380pg8 - knowing have use latest firmware (july 2012). here's thing - how can integrate hp servicepack server 2012 when there's no os @ all?! there way doing this? any advice nice! thanks, mike firmware/bios updates handled outside operating system, in fact, done before installing operating system on box.  have upgrade before try installation.  specific steps, hp should provide documentation - different every vendor.  means interrupt boot process go system configuration or bios or whatever particular vendor wants call it.  vendor provides cd firmware/bios updates , instructions on how apply them.  may allow boot cd make easier.  other may require run program cd. tim Windows Server  > 

hello all,   when using gpo preferences it's possible deploy shared printer user configuration. however, when using computer configuration option deploy shared printer missing. only tcp-ip or local printer possible.   we want prevent student printing directly printer instead let them print server. witch logs jobs , able contact printer. hi, my name sony , i'm newcomer forum.   i have problem terminal service. i'm using windows 2008 standard edition sp2 , using web access share application microsoft dynamic nav.  we using active directory in our company , has parent , child domain architecture.  the scenario have 1 parent domain let abc.com have child domain child.abc.com   the client using windows xp, vista , 7    right have 2 big problem: 1. 1 of user group in child.abc.com let groupsales@child.abc.com cannot access terminal service. user keep asking password password right. other group there no problem @ all. have tried using same computer in child domain , using different user in different user group. groupsales cannot access application   2. computer having weird behaviour. when tried connect application first time works. when connection broken , tried connect terminal service won't worked. have restart computer works again. in general each time computer connect first time w

we install black barry server in our sbs server (same our domain server) have i added blackberry service account name in black berry user’s security tab after time not there , add again many time after time when u check account not there in in black berry user’s security tab. why happen this.  because of issue our blackberry user face problme in black berry device. them incoming email being received using desktop secure outgoing email or reply not going – error message comes “ desktop email program unable submit message” just information folowing step finish : i have created domain user account blackberry local administration privileges on server. i have assigned “view administrator” blackberry service account. i have assigned “administrator information store” blackberry service account. i have assigned “send “  to blackberry service account . i have assigned “receive “  to blackberry service account .   then login blackberry service account in server (domain server) , install blackber

i'm getting error message when try change settings on vms. vm failed modify settings. danymic memory , virtual numa cannot enable on same virtual machine. vm failed modify settings. (virtual machine id xxx) dynamic memory , virtual numa cannot enabled on virtual machine vm because features mutually exclusive. (virtual machine id xxx) error appears if dynamic memory enable. happens on different settings. right i'm trying setup following setting: automatic start action startup delay xx seconds. when change seconds , hit ok or apply error message above. same thing happened yesterday when intended delete nic 1 machine. work around deactivate dynamic memory, change settings wanted, , reactivate dynamic memory after changes applied. have no idea numa is. starting read up. system hardware: 2x intel xeon e5620 @2.4 ghz 96 gb ram this known issue.  in vm settings go processor --> numa , click on "use hardware topology".  should fix
