i have windows 2008 r2 server developers have deployed windows services to.  about once every 30-40 days have errors in system log stating not not connect domain controller or logon server.  the developers applications stop working similar errors in application log: [email id: 2781341] - system.net.mail.smtpexception: failure sending mail. ---> system.net.webexception: unable connect remote server ---> system.net.sockets.socketexception: operation on socket not performed because system lacked sufficient buffer space or because queue full i know out of dynamic ports having trouble isolating cause.  even when on server not see laundry list of netstat entries indicating many dynamic connections.  it if applications incorrectly using piece of windows framework , sockets taken not reporting taken os in netstat.   is there way see how many dynamic connections taken/remaining?  something can watch counter.  anyone have other ideas on how mitigate besides rewriting or verifyi

i have 1,7tb of unusable space on server, can without deleting or removing data?   i have hp proliant dl 380 server has hp smart array 60 connected total of 3,7tb available space on 1 logical unit.   the problem array in windows 1 basic disk, 2tb logical partition made on it, why don’t know since pre time. “convert dynamic disk…” grayed out, “new partition…” on empty space. in disk management. the command “diskpart”, not extend partition on 2tb (or 2047,99gb) on basic disk, , not change dynamic disk either. may because has logical not primary partition?   is there way force either 2tb disk grow, or make new partition on free 1,7tb? if worst case happens have backup of data, 2tb takes time move…  please if has suggestions or tips, not hesitate suggest it.   thanks! 1) backup existing data & test have backup ! 2) convert disk gpt 3) create partition spanning full size of disk 4) restore data and know not asked, way ! buenas tardes espero me puedan apoyar, quiero formatear mi servidor (windows small business server 2011 essentials) o en su caso repararlo, ya que se encuentra muy lento, solo cuento con un servidor en mi empresa, mi red interna es de 18 usuarios que se conectan remotamente al servidor y ahí se ejecuta una aplicación esencial para que mis usuarios trabajen en ella. el rendimiento es muy lento o se pone muy lento, tengo que estar reiniciando mi servidor 3 veces por semana para mejorar un poco el rendimiento, ya realizado escaneo para descartar-la que no cuenta con virus, ya realice una desfragmentacion del disco duro,  varias cosas!, me han recomendado aumentarle mas memoria ram, actualmente cuenta con 8gb de ram, pero lo monitoreo con el administrador de tareas y solo utiliza 5gb de ram. ya no se que prueba realizarle. como les comentaba en un inicio, tenia pensado formatearla, pero no cuento con los discos de recuperacion, ni tampoco con el serial, para validar que es orgini

hello, i'm trying setup hyper-v server 2008 r2 on host single nic. when attempt create external network lose network connectivity on host. cannot ping anywhere host, cannot remote desktop host, etc. i've ensured host still assigned static ip after setting external network using server configuration utility (option 8 - network settings). only way can fix using nvspscrub.js utility. any appreciated, i've been attempting work far, far long :( thanks :) save lot of hassle , add 2nd nic management interface.  if insist on using 1 nic, have checked "allow management operating system share network adapter" under virtual networks settings. hello, i trying install powershell 5.0 on machine running windows 7 professional. first, had client's department install. don't know did not present. told tech had difficulty because user had turned off windows updater service. yesterday went insure powershell , got message said powershell had caused problem , needed close.  i tried reinstalling install came saying program installed.  i tried rebooting machine see there 109 windows updates needed done. sheeesh. installed 109 updates, did multiple reboots, , still no joy. don't see anywhere in programs in features (or install windows components) can uninstall , reinstall. anyone have suggestions. need powershell , running on machine.  also, in case of help. have laptop issued client , installed windows powershell 5 without hitch , running top. don't think it's client's whole environment, believe problem unique machine. regards, michael hi michael, try running .net repair tool . problems

in wsus environment, have number of ou's set same client side target/group membership in wsus. have number of wsus groups setup each application server group (600 servers in all) may have different approval policy or may want deny specific patch. can see group membership of computer/server within wsus group if click on computer/server object , view details tab shows below when inside wsus group, if don't know wsus group of computer/server? how find group membership of computer/server within wsus then? search feature , reporting not show if search computer, lower details tab when clicking on computer object within wsus group.  obviously find object in ad , @ client side targeting policy setting, lot of digging, , wanted quicker way on wsus side see information. btw - using wsus 3.0 sp2. not 100% sure, think can access computer computers container.   right click on , select change group membership.   see box checked next group belongs to.
