hello, windows server 2012 essentials started complain storage pool low on capacity, of physical disks @ 71%.  instead of adding 2 more disks mirrored pool, created new mirrored pool and, through dashboard, moved 240gb new pool.  now, old pool still complaining low on capacity , should still add 2 more disks expand pool, of disks @ 71%.  interestingly, windows explorer claims 63% of pool used.  (i set size match put on mirrored pool.) so, question...  why doesn't deleting files pool free space on physical disks , there can free 240gb no longer used? thanks. the problem shadow copies.  460 gb worth of shadow copies.  i used computer management view shadow copy configuration on volume in question right clicking on "shared folders", selecting "all tasks" , "configure shadow copies..." .  using of maximum 10% of drive's size configured for  shadow copies. using dashboard, right clicked on drive, clicked "view hard drive propertie

hi guys, have quick question you. our server today crashed without notification. not boot windows , of course repair option not work. i  ended putting original windows 2012 server , try use repair option. aims avoid reinstalling whole server. repair still doesnt work because drivers not available on original windows cd. so had  no other option click on install , put driver of raid. able install windows. reinstalling whole server again not cool , time consuming. so question is. why there no way put correct drivers , use repair function while booting windows 2012 server cd? in server edition seems different.  i make custom cd , put driver controller. time consuming work. thank share ideas. jean during install @ partition screen there option "load driver" looking it's similar f6 in previous os installs. you can shift-f12 give command line , install drivers way. if want raid drivers in install image in adk , windows deployment can create system image

after installing recent batch of updates windows server 2008 machine, cannot logon after restart. the problem with the sbs second server which runs windows server 2008 64 bit on physical box as a secondary dc and runs a sql server 2008 line of business application. the sbs server runs virtual system on hyper v physical box. network, primary dc, exchange etc work fine. all pcs in network run windows 7 professional , log on them not problem. the problem second server returns error (5) access denied when trying log on machine remotely. interactive logon returns username or password not recognised. logging onto local machine returns "unable o logon - attempt made logon, network logon service not started" pinging ip address of problem server works ok sending shutdown /m ip address -r -f  instruction using command prompt sbs primary server, however, sending shutdown /m \\computername -r -f returns (5) access denied error. browsing network lists name of problem serve

hello,  have remote desktop services farm built on windows server 2012 r2.  have 2 connection brokers in ha setup, single server web/gateway roles installed , 2 session hosts in single session collection.  farm has been working until ran set-rdworkspace command change name default name of our organisation.  web , gateway seem function fine when try , connect session collection following error "this computer can't connect remote computer.  have tested network connectivity between both session hosts , connection brokers, seems okay.  in "terminalservices-sessionbroker-client" logs in event viewer following error message generated when logon attempted: "remote desktop connection broker client failed redirect user - error: null".  unsure if issue related "set-rdworkspace" command or a coincidence thanks hi, comment. sorry late response. have tried check network connectivity between rdcb , rdsh server? pl

i have issue, old windows 2003 server (unable upgrade due driver issues on raid card) has been relegated being wsus , file server. until running flawlessly. 3 weeks ago, began work on downloading (presumably windows updates) reached point of continuously downloading with little or no end.  isp warned me of 1 terabyte limit having been reached (normally far below that) , researching discovered guy seemingly never ending it's download.  i checked wsus patch store @ 159 gig, not unusual, that's total.  desperate attempt solve this, have uninstalled wsus still didn't resolve bits hammering network download.  have sense disabled bits on server, can't find way remove bits now.  this small home network , if need can away wsus , have clients manual windows updates, not preference. any advice?   hey all, sorry delay in posting, said, cut head off beast rather fix it. script looks interesting tool (bitsadmin.exe) available win xp support tools kit , have no win xp
