hi everyone, i configured shadow copies user home folders on 2k8r2 file server. looks fine , did create 10 copies. however, 10 copies gone when tried check total shadow copies size. know what's going on or event log can check , figure out how happened? please me out. thank you......:(  swl2011  there's couple of places can look: check application event log filtering on vss , vssaudit event sources from elevated command prompt, run: vssadmin list writers , , writers may still have error state listed double-check you're seeing in ui with a similar vssadmin command: vssadmin list shadows look errors in system event log may relate volume shadow copy service. make sure volume shadow copy service set manual. don't alarmed if not showing started, starts , shuts down again needed or when it's been idle while. running of above commands should result in starting in case. cheers, lain

hello, recently moved several servers 1 physical location 2 different datacenters.  these machines configured use statics ips, moving dhcp reserved ips these servers. for odd reason, of servers registering dns while others not.  causing client access issues people trying access machines fqdn, servers pingable servername only. all servers use same primary , secondary dns servers. problem servers can ping dns servers, can telnet on port 53 each dns server dns client. problem servers on same subnet, there not appear networking issue on servers. on effected servers have tried run ipconfig /registerdns no record appears on dns server.  have checked event log on problem servers , can find no error messages relating dns registration. here additions details working servers: if manually delete host record dns server record re-appear after run ipconfig /registerdns on client.  however, if remove wins configuration on client machine, delete host record in dns, pings both servern

i have 2008 terminal server farm consists of 6 servers.  5 participate in session broker.  sixth used session broker , doesn't participate in farm.  there in case 1 of other servers has type of hardware failure.  there problem keep running lately when have drain server.  drain server , whatever changes, software installations or updates needed , set allow connections again.  problem once server set allow connections, connections seem go server.  same thing happens if 2 servers drained.  yesterday 2 servers drained , allowed accept connections again.  morning 1 server had 15 connections. 1 had around 27, 1 had 32, , 2 servers drained had on hundred connections each.  relative weight set same on of servers.  if shed light on appreciated. hi, are running sp2 on ts session broker server?  there update session broker included in sp2. if have not already, please enable logging on ts session broker in order assist troubleshooting: how turn on terminal services session dire

hi,  we building rds 2012 1 of our business line apps. have 50 users going accessing app 30 doing concurrently. we reduce number of servers going used rds deployment consolidate rds roles in fewer servers. the current drawing shows following servers: 2 servers rdg 2 server rdwa 2 servers rdcb  4 servers rdhs (this remain way)    we using kemp lm reverse proxy 2 rdg servers rdwa load balanced kemp well. finally use native microsoft ha active-active rdcb deployment , place db on sql 2012 cluster. that being said, trying understand roles better coexisting within single box , how ha box should configured. for example should configured rdg , rdwa , build second box second roles ha, how ha configuration going have configured, issues certificates, etc? or should place rdwa , rdcb togheter , build new server same roles ha? same questions here regarding ha deployment, certificates, etc. we looking suggestions , reasons out understand best path follow implemented.

ok ask question in fear of being blown out water. need ad. im having problems group policy seemingly doing random things. isntance. have 3 identical users in same ou in ad. 3 computers in own ou i have policy includes homepage , proxy setting. precedence 1. (there other gpo's applying before) now if logon user 1 in the room. may pick homepage not proxy setting. log on computer 2 in room 1 , same user may pick policy. may logon 3rd computer , pic proxy , not homepage. appears random. same effect on 3 idenitcal users. logging on second , 3 users can bring different results user 1 on same machines. has been left on night replicate , problem still exists. have runthe gpo wizard on machines , "tells" me gpo has been applied buuuuutt hasn't. gpudate /force makes no difference. created new ou , moved them in there.... no difference. users in different ou same parent ou appear have no problems.... matched security groups , still doesnt work.... this has absolute
