hi, i've implemented 'web application proxy' based on technet tutorials.  the proxy working externally can't exposed application perform double hop (wap --> backend iis app --> wcf call --> mssql db). i'm confident backend server not being passed kerberos ticket able delegate wcf call wap. what's odd if hit end server domain external application work limited amount of time.  i suspect end server has ticket work internal call. the site works fine internally.  so i'm not sure why wap can't delegate.  i've set kcd wap can act on behalf of iis app pool identity (service user, not machine account). adfs/wap event logs show no errors.  event logs indicate ticket being passed adfs wap successfully. i believe i'm missing form of delegation permission on adfs service account, or wap proxy, i'm baffled. any appreciated. cheers, chris adfs preauthentication -that process users / devices gets preauthenticated before gain ac

we have 2 rds 2012r2 host servers 1 92 gb of ram , 1 184 gb ram - have similar servers windows server 2012r2 (no rds) same memory available. we have large application need run on rds servers in multiple sessions - app capable of using large amounts of ram on rds servers each session appears able access 2gb of ram. we run 1 session on each of rds servers , on each machine 4 gb of ram used when run application. if run same application on non-rds servers use 62gb , 154 gb respectively (not sure why aren't using memory complete runs in time) i cant find reference memory limit or per session limit on 2012r2 rds servers no matter we cant persuade app use more memory - have checked , 64-bit version of app - in fact same install on non-rds servers. perfmon shows no limitations on other resource - servers use same cpu, etc. non-rds servers use more paging file reads/writes. any pointers on find limit , how best change - want 4-8 users per box maximum testing 1 user session @

i have virtual file server sitting on hyperv. file server ran out of space , host machine had disk space available. shutdown file server , edited virtual disk extend 50gb. when boot file server , login, see unallocated space listed in disk management, not let me extend it. when go extend wizard, wizard not show space that's available. left column blank , on right column shows it's current size. it's if wizard not able see unallocated space reason. any ideas? i not see issue... you should able extend volume without problem as last screen shot says, maximum available space in mb: 57344. right click on e drive, extended partition, follow wizard clicking next. ~ knowledge seeker Windows Server  >  Windows Server General Forum

i have 2 sharepoint 2010 wfe servers setup in nlb cluster in multicast mode.  the servers 2008 r2 running in vmware environment , both servers have 1 nic.  several times per week 1 of servers goes "converging" state , @ point users unable access our sharepoint site.  have reboot server converge again. microsoft has hotfix available in following kb: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978943/en-us i'm not sure if should apply because mentions server should recording entry in system event log event id: 19.  neither of 2 servers logging such entry not sure if hotfix applies.  has else seen before or have suggestions on other things check or try? thank you Windows Server  >  High Availability (Clustering)

we in process of setting windows server 2012 r2 kms server replace our windows server 2008 r2 machine. after installing volume activation role , going through volume activation tools 'wizard' i'm running problem. when try commit settings (like firewall exceptions, custom dns zones) error stating following: the following error has occurred. please resolve error , try again. description: status_success and none of settings have been aplied, , there no eventlog entries stating whats wrong. when deploy windows server 2012 (non r2) machine , go through same process commiting same settings works fine. anybody know might wrong here? same problem here, check the kms listening port is not set "0" it should set "1688" this solved me. i brought first hyper-v failover cluster, went okay, , have vm on cluster. i'm attempting connect cluster via hyper-v management mmc snap-in on vista sp2 machine.  added computer via 'connect server' , used browse function ensure no fqdn issues.  mmc attempts connect it; but, returns "you might not have permission perform task." can around adding every computer in cluster , flipping through them until find vm want work on; but, rather single point manage vms regardless of happen hosted on cluster (at moment). thanks. hi,   if want manage hyper-v cluster client computer, computer should add same domain hyper-v cluster has been add in. way, need use domain user account manage hyper-v cluster, , use account should add administrators group in hyper-v cluster nodes.   in addition, don’t recommend use hyper-v manager manage hyper-v cluster, it’s better manage through failover cluster console.     best regards, vincent hu

hi guys,  i have issue im not quite sure why happening. i running wink2k8 standard , has 4 ts cal's available use.  the issue have when 3 of 4 cal's being used, final cal not allow user connect.  when check ts host manager, see there 3 active connections , 0 inactive.  i assume mean there 1 cal still available however, when try login, error "cannot connect remote computer".  when logoff existing connection , there 2 live connections, new connection can established. there listener, services , console in "sessions" tab.  i unsure services user disconnected , not refresh.  could related our citrix environment? finally, when check ts licensing manager, shows there 4 installed cal's (which correct) 9 cal's in use.  how check other 5 connections being used? any appreciated. kind regards, hi, please make sure rdp-tcp listener set allow unlimited connections.  may set in terminal services configuration (tsconfig.msc), double-cli
