i have few users need access application on terminal server (windows 2008 r2) if user logs on directly terminal server has no problem. when logs on rdweb page displays no icons. authenticating agaisnt domain form terminal server hosted. have tested windows 2008 ts server prior r2 , worked no problem. i see when user logs on rdweb has security audit failure event id of 4265. when logon user on same domain ts no probelm whats ever. i have tried adding terminal servers windows authorization access group no avail. i tried changing rdweb apppool use network services identity no go. i have published the remote application just users user, still no icons in rdweb. any idea on should @ or change. thanks judd  sorted problem you have allow terminal server machines rights check users on other domain. had speak administrator of other domain create group terminal server machines in , give access authenticate users on there domain.

i have domain 4 domain controllers.  installed windows 2008 r2 domain controller , moved fsmo roles 2 4 weeks ago.  have 3 other windows 2003 r2 domain controllers.  staying undetermined period of time. i have 3 buildings.  building 1 main , 2 , 3 satellite locations. i built second windows 2008 r2 server , installed exchange 2010 sp2 on weekend.  server , running test mailboxes on it. last evening user account became unusable.  member of domain admins group.  said password wrong.  logged in administrator , checked account.  not locked out.  tried reset password old 1 , allowed on domain controller.  tried log in , denied.  claim password wrong.  reset password different one.  tried login , fine.  wrong someplace...  i looked @ event logs , see wins replication errors not whole lot more.  noticed when browse network computers in main building computers in other 2 buildings no longer show up.  did before...  has seen this?  not have group policies setup make users change

hi, what happen if remove hard drive server 1 (dell poweredge sc440 2.8ghz windows server 2003) , install in quasi-identical server 2 (dell poweredge sc440 3.4ghz)? will windows server license still valid? if not, quite easy re-activate it? i need know cause need implement backup plan our server, in case if breaks. need , running few hours after breaks cause loose money every minute it's down. plan purchase identical server backup. whole disk images of server 1 every night, if hard drive fails we're covered. any ideas please? for practical reasons, yes, if have identical hardware chassis, , move drive on it, should fine.  though, looks need think through going dr.  if going design high availible stratagey company, , state losing money while it's down... need think more 1 server disk swap.  but basics, yes if have new identical server, should able move drives in case of hardware failure, if os corrupted, moving drives not help. :p advice offered, if need more
