i have 2 windows 2003 server in cluster share called backups.  i set share permissions share user , saves them. if clutser fails on second server user above gets share permissions removed, happens same if move resource nodo node b manually. user account goes list.  i have tried setting on both servers when manage disks still when fails on share permissions go. cheers i'm sorry, i've fixed now. the problem i'm giving share permissions windows explorer, , must cluster administrator tool. thanks anyways. cheers... we have windows xp , windows 7 workstations in our domain, , server 2003 , server 2008 servers. starting testing of windows 8 workstations, , trying understand may need in order apply our current gpo windows 8 workstations, , make new ones windows 8 workstations. currently manage workstation gpo's windows xp , windows 7 workstations windows 7 "management" workstation using gpmc rsat. not work domain controllers or server's themselves, know our domain , forest functional levels windows server 2003, have server 2008 dc's , don't have server 2012 servers. i have started adding windows 8 workstations domain, , getting gpo's have not started configuring specific them yet. thinking create windows 8 management workstation, install rsat version windows 8 on it, , use gpmc workstation mange windows 8 specific gpos may have, may want utilize gpo settings/features new windows 8, , maybe mange gpo's apply both windows 7 , windows 8 workstations. i
