Terminal Server/ Windows Server Standard 2003

i have server 2003 citrix presentation server remote clients. had corrupt citrix database , had aquire our license , rebuild. citrix stated windows updates did caused database become corrupt. problem fixed our terminal server license status unknown. when try activate states there internal error , not proceed activation. existing setup , no 1 knows , documentation is. have tracked down citrix license , 50 of our cal license. know little terminal server license , question cal license same terminal server license? if remove terminal license role in add , remove features , reenable it, correct issue? have 44 clients listed under terminal server , not understand why has been set there around 15 clients use software through citrix. appreciated.

ts cals separate windows server cals.

the important thing find license authorization/agreement numbers or retail key ts cals own.  if these volume licenses (example: open business) may contact microsoft reseller sold ts cals or logon vlsc website (https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx) if know username/password registered under.  if not know microsoft reseller can ask person handles accounts payable through past invoices/records in your accounting software and give clue reseller(s) contact.

if unable locate licenses may want contact microsoft clearinghouse , explain them happening.  may able based on ts licensing server pin along contact information entered when tsl server activated.  article below find phone number clearinghouse (it windows 2000 still relevant, substitute "remote desktop services licensing" says "terminal services licensing":

if remove/reinstall ts licensing completely delete ts licensing database including information regarding purchased/issued ts cals, etc., therefore, if cannot find licensing paperwork should try clearinghouse before doing this.  if have ts licensing authorization/agreement numbers/etc. way clear out ts licensing , start fresh.  if have problem re-installing purchased ts cals contact clearinghouse assistance.
