hi, we using dfs replicate between 10 different servers , 1 of them getting crazy high backlogs (500,000+ backlogged). have googled issue , not found solutions pertain our issue. hoping can help. please see description below. 10 servers in same datacenter on same network. 1 of them getting backlogged point nothing play catch up. servers virtual servers. of them on separate vm hosts. couple share same host including 1 in question. however, when check performance on vm host seems fine. plus of 2 on vm host 1 getting backlogged. have done calculations set staging folder's quota hair above calculations recommend (i did on 10 servers stay consistent). have edited registry high performance settings suggested many sites online (i did on 10 servers remain consistent). however, server still remains backlogged. warnings in event viewer event id 4202, 4204 , 4412. have gathered server trying catch backlogs. perform nightly backups. @ time dfs stop while backup takes place. i

hi all, i have done migration our sbs 2008 server 2016 standard. both vm's running on esxi 6. 2016 server holding roles (ad, dhcp, dns,...). old server running fileserver (for network drives). temporary situation until complete migration done. have 4 weeks migration. on, sbs 2008 start complaining , restarting because not hold roles. however... this morning restarted new server 2016 vm after windows update. got boot error : "critical process failed". refused boot, , automatic repair not help. the windows machine apparently did not hold restore points, decided roll previous backup (veeam). make long story short : tried roll every 1 of our backups, including oldest 1 (6 days ago). backups refuse boot. apparently must have been broken more 6 days ago, not visible until restart. so can't roll backup, , restoring dvd not work, because repair-installer says "something went wrong". is there way recover ad-information? can build new server , rec

our dc's 2008 r2 installs, switched our drive mapping script in gp using drive maps option in gp now.  work fine in windows 7, in vista (sp2) only 1 works after reboot.  if a  gpupdate /force , has me logoff/logon pick new changes, drives there. i checked registry make sure cse update isntalled , is. all drives mapped same way, not sure why 1 shows fine every time.  enabled logging on mapped drives information , up, created directory on pc's there isn't log file. there aren't errors in event log either.   so far looks choosing reconnect on drive map options in gp has fixed problem.     Windows Server  >  Group Policy

  hello i have windows 2003 cluster not respond cluster ip resource.  (can't wait migrate windows 2008 clustering) node = 192.168.1.101 node b = 192.168.1.102 cluster resource ip = 192.168.1.100 the cluster fails on node node ok , again. my application connect node when node holding resources , same true when connecting node b.  however, application not connect cluster resource ip.  cannot ping or telnet cluster resource ip device regardless of node holding resources. my cluster not standard cluster build built on 2 self-contained domain controllers.  (this application requirement) this has worked in past , working in production environment.  need test environment working can begin work of migrating windows 2008 cluster. i appreciate pointes resolve this.  many thanks ewan. i didn't think possible cluster domain controllers.  not supported configuration if have.  can't imagine application

i have 2 secondary routers connected primary router provided isp. personal computers connected 1 router , lab have connected another. lab 2k8r2 hyper-v running vms. want able connect personal computers through primary router lab server. i've given try , not getting connection looking for. does public ip come play though i'm not going out internet? rd gateway required or other method not seeing required. connect admin don't have setup roles or services. i can hardwire server same router personal computers want find out how correctly. know use logmein or along lines i'm kind of focused on learning rds right now. or links in advance. btw, seen of technet articles , other ms blogs on topic. btw, it's scenario might exist @ company 2 subnets need helpdesk, on 1 of subnets, able use remote desktop access both subnets. i'm not subnetting 2 routers , haven't set domain in server i'm using hyper-v, that's situation see it. obviously, have no tr
