2008 R2 Access Network Shares

interesting one, i'm seeing difference in way credentials either passed or not passed when accessing network share. try access network shares using fqdn , ip on 2008 r2 servers (one sp1 , other without sp1).

accessing network share via 2008 r2 , 2008 r2 sp1 (active directory priviledges assumed).

2008 r2 - user not challenged when accessing network share either via \\fqdn or \\ip

2008 r2 sp1 - user challenged via \\fqdn but not via \\ip

any thoughts?

i have not understood question. however, better ask them here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/winserverfiles/threads
