Certificate authority does not start on migrated 2012R2 server


i have migrated root ca windows 2003 2012r2 according technet instructions
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee126140(v=ws.10).aspx

the service not start.

the error shown is:
dependency service not exist or has been marked deletion. 0x433 (win32: 1075 error_service_dependency_deleted)

in event log:
certificate services service depends on following service protectedstorage. service might not installed.

glad found registry mistake. why migration guide indicates necessary settings should migrated importing registry. wholesale import of old/modified registry lead numerous problems this.

on templates, things bit easier. enterprise cas use templates stored in active directory, nothing needed backedup. can re-add them new ca. however, hard part knowing templates had on old ca. can through issued certificates folder in ca management tool see certificate templates have been used. not 100% effective, better nothing if have no other details available.
