How can I display my desktop to a monitor while using Remote Desktop

i connecting desktop pc tv monitor in room using 5m long hdmi can display desktop image (& itunes' visualizer image while listening itune music).

however, when try control desktop pc via remote desktop app installed on ipad, desktop pc turns sleep mode.

does remote desktop app have function keep desktop image alive on tv monitor?
