hello all, i work in data center , changing many things @ beginning of year increase business. increase work load of course. researching ways can deploy windows server 2003 , 2008 r2 unattended updates, service packs , possibly php , mail server. without having learn write perl [it seems  most of unattended stuff perl]. i've used nlite in past slipstream install cd 2003 standard service packs , helps time install seems slipstreaming of updates isn't functional. anyways, know options on how achieve above? great if there's tool can configure, pxe boot it, choose 2003 standard sp2 list , installs image created,  configured , maintained updates, etc. ideas? you in luck; in general solution looking free , solution accelerator called "microsoft deployment toolkit 2010 update 1". automates of deployment challenges. it's referred "litetouch", meaning boot dvd or windows deployment server , select task sequence or operating system wish deploy....

we conducted failover drill test failover behavior of 2-node windows 2008 cluster.  in setup, there 2 windows 2008 enterprise servers sp2. in cluster, there shared drive service , clustered ibm db2 application service. the test : all network cables, including heartbeat cable unplugged at active node.  expected result : we expected there short interruption while db2 service , file system fileover standby server.  actual result : service interrupted , not recovered failover active node standby node. question should windows 2008 cluster manager able handle above scenario network connections including heart beat cable removed @ active node?  thanks advice. adolphus can still contact/manage cluster? wasn't aware db2 cluster-aware application.... should still able manage cluster in scenario db2 may offline (if not truely cluster-aware application). if cannot connect cluster (using failover cluster manager) different issue. ...

hi, let me start ad setup have: ws 2012 (primary dc), ws2003 (secondary), 2 x 2008r2 dcs. i had child ou (test) in 1 of root ous (sales users) , trying move test ou root out of sales users dragging , dropping it. release mouse button drop ou received message needed confirm operation. did both test , sales users disappeared. however, sales users still stayed in root directory without regular icon , wasn't able access neither delete it. time after sales users ou disappeared well, hoping recreate , start creating users. replication worked fine, because realized have "ghost" folder , users tried login other dcs have corrupted folder. i created ou, when try recreate users same names it's giving me following error: "windows cannot create new users object because pre-windows 2000 logon name "user's name" in use. select name, , try again." users still able login using domain names , passwords, none of them can found. any advice appreciate...

hi :) failover cluster have 3 node (node majority) , connected netapp storage via fc. this morning 1 node stops see storage, cluster, other nodes.. failover cluster manager console did not saw cluster, can not connect vm running on node (from hyper-v console), live migration not possible. vm's goes offline onto node. first error 5120: cluster shared volume 'volume1' ('aggr0-vol-boot_win-vm_boot') no longer available on node because of 'status_bad_network_path(c00000be)'. i/o temporarily queued until path volume reestablished. after i've reviewed event log i've noticed error 5719 netlogon occured 12 minutes before 5120 error. my team member started manualy vm's after time again "crashed" , goes offline. after perform quick migration other 2 nodes , restarted problematic node1 , run ok. i wondering goes wrong ? i've never saw such behaivour 1 node "kicked out" , locked vm's can lm them problematic node ot...

i have windows 2000 server sp4 guest os network issue.  network adapter intel 21140-based pci fast ethernet adapter (generic)  is coming error, "this device not working because windows cannot load drivers required device. hi, i trying lock-down control + alt + delete screen on windows 7 professional x64 computers, take away task manager. have appropriate settings configured in gpo, attached ou, of them taking affect. example, set last user not displayed in username dialog box. works. removed "switch user" option control + alt + delete screen , works well. however, other settings, in user section of gpo , not computer section not applying. have gpo set enable remote desktop through registry edit , not working either. according event log, gpo changes being seen , applied, computers don't have desired settings removed. there bunch of 36871 errors (a fatal error occurred while creating ssl client credential. internal error state 10013.) in log s bunch of 7006 (the scregsetvalueexw call failed start following error: access denied). can't find specific example of resolution these 2 issues pertains situation. not running avg antivirus , not running ms forefront. gpresult s...

i create new paragraph style , apply several paragraphs. @ unknown cue, i find style goes missing , paragraphs carried style have reverted previous style.
