Windows 2008 Cluster Failover behavior
we conducted failover drill test failover behavior of 2-node windows 2008 cluster. in setup, there 2 windows 2008 enterprise servers sp2.
in cluster, there shared drive service , clustered ibm db2 application service.
the test :
all network cables, including heartbeat cable unplugged at active node.
expected result :
we expected there short interruption while db2 service , file system fileover standby server.
actual result :
service interrupted , not recovered failover active node standby node.
question
should windows 2008 cluster manager able handle above scenario network connections including heart beat cable removed @ active node?
thanks advice.

can still contact/manage cluster? wasn't aware db2 cluster-aware application.... should still able manage cluster in scenario db2 may offline (if not truely cluster-aware application). if cannot connect cluster (using failover cluster manager) different issue.
