we have 3 dell 2950 servers host 12 highly available vms. configured per vm per lun. now, need add more vms , can configure more vms per lun? affect failovering?
can i configure vms not in highly vailable in shared storage in same cluster?

when place multiple virtual machines on single lun, cluster node not able failover other virtual machines, residing on lun or failover virtual machines on lun. when use system center virtual machine manager 2008 warn placing multiple virtual machines on single lun not supported.
placing multiple virtual machines on single lun 1 of the new hyper-v features in windows server 2008 r2. feature called cluster shared volumes (csv)

yes, can configure virtual machines, residing on windows server 2008 cluster node, not highly available.
you need to assign lun 1 specific node , not make available offline other nodes.
Windows Server > Hyper-V
