i want set dropbox each user other users can drop folders/files without having access drobbox itself. what have tried (unsuccessfully) grant full rights (ntfs) individual assigned folder , "create files / write data, creater folders / append data, write attributes , write extended attributes users group. this seems work fine in every instance except when dropped folder/file moved location in same volume. in cases dropped folder loses original permissions. have tested using folders have inheritance disabled or enabled , seems same. read somewhere when folder mover within same volume retains permissions (as opposed inheriting destination folder) in case looses them completely. anyone knows how set correctly? have looked access-based enumeration?  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd772681(v=ws.10).aspx it can provide access subdirectories of folder without individual (except administrator) being able view other portion except own. . : | : . : | : . tim ...

optimize speed , bandwidth utilization, laptops pull updates our local wsus content store when brought office , connected lan.   when same laptops taken offsite laptops download updates microsoft update servers on internet. don't want laptops on internet having pull updates our internal wsus , don't want laptops on lan pulling updates microsoft. what's best way reliably?  setting group policy configures windows update location @ site level instead of @ ou level , setting vpn network on different ad site?  that way when laptop connects vpn , refreshes group policy, windows update policy point downloading microsoft, , when same laptop brought on corporate lan, group policy change internal wsus server. seems possibly work, see problems because policy update change may not timely. if laptop on lan set check approvals , download updates our internal wsus, taken offsite , used on internet, not connected vpn?  in case still configured w...
