hi, have tower running windows server 2008, , media/storage server. when writing server, has 2tb external drive attached via usb, server drops connection alltogeather. if ping server (ie ping 192.168.2.2) receive 100% success. when attempting write shared storage, 100% packet loss! , transfer sticks on time remaining: calculating. this has never happened. have replaced switch little experiance troubleshooting network failure im not sure can trace packet loss or if server itself. i have nic , wireless card installed on server, nic (192.168.2.2) , wifi (192.168.2.254) both loss connection. hi, w2k8 core host several w2k8 , w2k3 guests. 1 of w2k8 guests is exchange 2007 server bit low on disk space. @ point in the past, did snapshot had deleted since took drive space (snapshot storage mis-configured). fast forward tonight when i'm doing core server patches , decided down guests before rebooted host boxes (bl460c blades , msa2012i san houses of disks). when rebooted host box (not 1 exchange on, thank god), merge started on 1 of guest w2k8 systems that had done couple of snapshots on in past. unfortunately, 1 also low on disk space , merge kept restarting , restarting. after trying move snapshots around in vain, able logon the san , expand lun stores "c:" drive of vm. once did an "extend volume" in disk management, merge completed , server booted. it's working there problems; if leave alone, runs fine as i logon or try remotely manage the vm crashes.  back question - exchange vm has same problem disk space and definately don't want acting stu...
