i've been tasked internal security department create a gpo  disable (gray out) change password button whenever ctl+alt+del action has been taken end user. in compliance internal audit sox control.  running within windows 2003 active directory environment, i've found a group policy under user controls->system->ctl+alt+del->remove change password. have policy enabled on ou contains user accounts only. whenever tried test out policy seem not work. wasn't until moved test machine on same ou user acccount able policy work. isn't going work me in have keep our machines , user accounts in separate ous compliance reasoning. i've tried link policy both test users ou , test machines ou , still couldn't policy work. when both user account , machine resides in same ou gpo work. doing wrong here? because under impression applying gpo test users ou would be enough perform button disable need, if i'm required have both user accounts , machines ...

hello guys, i have 2 servers, 1 windows server 2012 r2, , second 1 hyper v server 2012 core edition. trying export vms (hyper-v server) to shared folder on our file server through hyper-v manager on windows server 2012 machine. , continuously failing that.  and error: "failed create export directory error 'the user name or password incorrect.'(0x8007052e)" i add rights shared folder, "everyone" testing, double checked ntfs level , share level permissions. i have test vms on windows 10 machine , exported vms same shared folder, directly hyper-v manager (vms , hyper-manager on same pc). there suggestions, thanks, z no need export.  shut down vm on source machine.  copy files network storage.  hyper-v 2012 not need export before can imported.  if performing network backup of files may want import later, have copy files. it appears export not work network share.  tried number of different things, constrained d...

i have 2 servers on network.  primary server domain controller sbs 2003.  second , newer server server 2003 standard.  member of domain not running ad.  goal shut down sbs server.  i've read can't install ad on newer server 2003 standard , tranfer fmso roles because sbs requires roles on it's server.  suggestions smooth transition in transfering ad sbs 2003 server 2003 standard server?  i'm considering uninstalling ad sbs server , reinstalling fresh copy on 2003 standard server, know require re-entering user , other objects ad, , it's not large network not bad of task.  wanted ask if had better path before begin.   thank you, michael lange michael - can accomplish either transition pack ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555073 ) or without ( http://tec-articles.blogspot.com/2008/01/migrate-from-sbs-2003-to-2003-standard.html ) sounds interested in former. you might want post question on sbs forum sbs newsgroup http://www...
