i setting w2003 ts.
within year, this  2003 box upgraded or replaced 2008 box.

will per user licenses purchase 2003 ts usable , transferable 2008 box? same users using ts.
license server reside directly on ts box along ts app.

to more specific, if mean install ts2003 cals in 08 licencse server, ok , need call microsoft clearinghouse deactivate ts2003 , install appropriate cals in 08 license server serving 03 ts. information how call clearinghouse, see: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754874.aspx

if mean use ts2003 cals serving ts 2008, not useable.you need buy 2008 r2 ts cals serving 08 or 08r2 ts/rds.
