Slow Web Browsing on 2008 R2 RD Host
we have new proliant server (dl370 g6) setup 2008 r2 using hyper-v 2008 r2 guest configured remote desktop session host. has numerous applications installed seem work having issue relatively slow web browsing ie.
i guess it's graphics hardware built-in server if that's case there can improve web browsing performance? have upgraded ie v8 v9 has made no difference.
i've looked @ remote fx option seems work virtualisation host.
anyone got ideas or suggestions please?
cheers now

hi russell,
bandwidth problem. 672kbps not enough web browsing on rdp, except light usage. example, if configuring router on a web interface little slow acceptable since router web interfaces text. example business web applications crm, accounting, etc., not use heavy graphics.
i have had success allowing light remote web browsing of business web apps via 768kbps upstream reducing color depth of rdp connection 8-bit. can reduce color depth 8-bit changing following line in .rdp file users use connect server:
session bpp:i:8
your users may complain appearance of things, if need occasional light browsing of sites not heavy on graphics/animations/etc. may work. keep in mind browsing web site slow down other connections. @ 672kbps there not can allow "real" web browsing on rdp.
you not need install remotefx via server manager in order use in rdsh session. not think remotefx going @ bandwidth level, sorry.
