Routing 2008R2 session host through 2012R2 HA connection broker

hi all,

i have 2012r2 rds deployment several 2008r2 session hosts.  proper method ensuring route through ha/load balanced connection broker?  when @ rdp connection file shows session host server endpoint , 2012r2 session hosted apps shows connection broker ha dns name instead.  1 slight difference in deployment connections route through gateway server, not sure if matters though.  i've provided enough detail, if not please let me know.  thanks!

to have multiple server 2008 r2 rdsh servers are joined same rds farm, you need server 2008 r2 rd connection broker server.  can have remoteapps , desktops published by 2008 r2 farm show in server 2012 r2 rd web access (alongside 2012 r2 remoteapps).  may also share 2012 r2 rd licensing , rd gateway servers with both server 2008 r2 farm , server 2012 r2 collections.

in general, manage/configure rds need use version-specific tools of each.  2012 r2 means server manager -- rds , updated 2012 powershell cmdlets , 2008 r2 means rd session host configuration, remoteapp manager, rds manager, older powershell provider, etc.

to publish server 2008 r2 remoteapps/desktop via server 2012 r2 rd web access need edit c:\windows\web\rdweb\web.config file on 2012 r2 rdweb server.  instructions in file.

Disconnecting from a Windows Server 2012 R2 file sharing session on a Windows 7,8,10 machine

Event ID 64,77,1008 Certificates Events Windows Server 2008, 2008R2
