Expand Partition C:


i have windows 2008r2 server c: , d:.  the c: low on disk space.  i shrank d:, adds free space end of d: can’t expand c:.

a thought copy d: new temp usb disk.  delete d:, create 50 gb partition , add c:, create d: , copy data….

does sound work…?

if so, how can copy d: if files open on it, sql, exchange, etc, dismount it...?

this is my proto-type test server have wipe out , rebuild it, since there other things change.
