DFS hid share folder - even after unhiding, users can't access

i'm trying implement dfs share/replication between sites. looked @ first...set replication of sudden marked whole share folder hidden , system! no 1 access it. changed attribute users still weren't able access it. had copy whole share out folder , share out.

any ideas went wrong , how fix?

Disconnecting from a Windows Server 2012 R2 file sharing session on a Windows 7,8,10 machine
