How to add a cloud machine as a node to existing windows fail over cluster having on-premise node in Windows server 2008 R2

hi all,

we have windows fail on cluster having 1 windows machine on local network 1 of node.

i want add virtual cloud machine available on microsoft azure node existing cluster.

please suggest how this?

thanking in advance,

raghvendra

before start working on sql side, need create windows server 2008 r2 cluster no shared storage.  can test in-house.  create vm running 2008 r2 , cluster physical (from description, assuming physical) 2008 r2 machine. create file share witness quorum. configure environment see works expected.

once know how configure cluster between physical , vm file share witness, build azure.  location of fsw gets interesting choice.  have fsw in azure means need vm in azure host file share, meaning have 2 quorum votes in azure , 1 in-house.  or, create file share witness on in-house system, giving 2 quorum votes in-house , 1 in azure.

in fsw in azure scenario, if have loss of in-house server, automatic failover occurs because 2 quorum votes exist in azure.  fsw in-house, depending on loss have in-house, might have force quorum azure single-node cluster run.  loss of access azure reverses scenarios.  neither 1 optimal, provide level of recoverability.
