Best Practice on Search Features


hello!

whats best practice when implementing search features in terminal server environment?

is there way wds index network shares? there third party tool?

we have 2 rdsh's in farm mode, , 1 file server

windows desktop search won't index remote shares default.

you can enable windows search service in terminal , files server.

 

these steps add , enable windows search service in windows server 2008:

 

1) start server manager

 

2) click on roles in left navigation pane

 

3) select add role in roles summary pane right

 

4) select file services role , click next

 

5) select windows search role service

 

finish wizard , should have windows search service , running.
