AD DS installation wizard error

i trying install ad ds on server 2008 r2 on 64 bit machine after running dcpromo , going through initial steps , when summary page , click on next following error. "an error occurred while wizard installing dns. have configure dns domain manually." have reformatted system , installed server 2008 twice, still same msg. please appreciated

that article on how first dc , running. however, doesn't address needs done afterwards.

to join workstation domain, main thing few others have mentioned must do, make sure using new dc's ip address dns address in workstation. oz pointed out, can't use isp's dns. if have isp's dns, or other dns server other new dc installed, workstation can't find domain. period.

ad relies on dns. therefore, machines in ad environment, including dc, must use dc dns address. realize dcpromo puts loopback in dns settings in nic you, , work dc (i use actual ip address of dc), loopback won't work workstation.

if using isp's or router dns addrses on workstation, workstation asking isp or router, "where domain controller?" doesn't have answer. more going on to why trying join domain not working.

summary:

1. make sure workstation has dc dns address.

2. if using dhcp, make sure dhcp server providing only dc dns address. please check dhcp's configuration. configure appropriate dhcp options, such as:

  • option 003 - gateway address option. put in router's ip address
  • option 006 - dns address option. put in dc's ip address.
  • option 015 - domain fqdn option. enter "domain.local" (domain.local example. enter actual ad dns name)

3. configure forwarder

  • open dns console
  • right-click servername, choose properties
  • click on forwarders tab
  • enter isp's dns address

4. optional - in nic - ipv4 properties, change loopback address on server (127.0.0.1) actual ip address of server.

5. new dhcp configuration on workstation, run ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew.

6. join domain.

Disconnecting from a Windows Server 2012 R2 file sharing session on a Windows 7,8,10 machine

Windows 2016 RDS event 1306 Connection Broker Client failed to redirect the user... Error: NULL

i'm attempting setup windows 2016 rds standard deployment session hosting.  layout follows: rds01 - rds connection broker , web access ts02 - rds session host ts03 - rds session host domain these servers part of has (1) windows 2008 server , (2) windows 2016 servers acting dcs.  domain running @ windows 2003 functional level. servers on single routed network no firewall between them.  dns , ptr records servers exist , resolve on hosts.  servers can pinged each other. in other words, there no network connectivity issues. i've setup rds deployment several times w/ same results. the issue can login via rdweb interface on rds01 win10 desktop , connect published rdp desktop without issue (i.e. no error messages user) , no errors in logs.  when try directly rdp rds01, authenticate user (per event log) error stating user doesn't have access system.  in event log event id 1306 message of "remote desktop connection broker client failed redirect user &
