NIS, NFS, AD DS

so im reading posts can find on topic figured ask well.

we have unix servers nfs mount volumes on our netapp. these shared accessed unix clients exclusively , auth/access are handled via uid/gid's in unix, have ldap , nis. handle auth/access these shares via ad (we @ 2k8 r2 domain functionality) seem missing conceptually.

do need server nis , if so, have master nis domain? im makes unix side here nervous if so.

im still not getting how managed regardless. know our cifs shares can remote manage netapp , setup share/ntfs permissions windows server. netapp pointed ad im missing how access handled nfs shares exported fromnetapp , mounted on unix system. hoping become more clear pieces fall or read/learn more.

as always....thank pointers

correct - need the server nis component of identity management for unix (that's new version of services unix available on windows server 2008 r2). in addition, component can not subordiinate master nis server running on unix...
