Windows server 2012 standard R2 evaluation activation

hello, 

i have windows server 2012 re evaluation installed testing environment , have applications , databases on it. planing move production environments. followed steps : have brought licence  and tried activating server key brought gave me error msg: "this key not correct key" , same activation key got : "this key not version". there in way activate windows server without reinstalling , losing apps , databases.

Disconnecting from a Windows Server 2012 R2 file sharing session on a Windows 7,8,10 machine
