gpupdate.exe caused cpu usage 100%

i have windows 2003r2 vm server.

in task manager, gpupdate.exe shows 98%~100% cpu usage every morning when come office, options have either kill in task manager or reboot server.

the monitor shows high usage starts 5~6am around 8am when come in.

if run gpupdate /force in cmd after kill process in task manager, appears no issue

no errors in eventlog or result of group policy.

no other servers have same issue under same gpo.

this been happening daily week already,

tried change gpo refresh interval, no luck

not sure else can or can start check.

i dont think virus has no virus behaviour , sep ok well.

anyone can help?

do have scripts scheduled run server in question ?

also, please reboot server , try last known configuration. see if makes difference.
