Can ping, but can't connect. (Windows 98)

networking isn't specialty, @ loss. , not have log in information server itself.

i have 3 windows 98 computers ping server, can't connect; , have 3 windows xp computers can connect, print, , else. 98's can (i.e. connect internet, emails, etc...), except has deal server.

the printers grayed out , "use printer offline" checked , cannot unchecked. have pinged server , printers successfully. assumption there update security yesterday on server , either messed or hasn't finished , needs restarted (which guessing running server 2003.)

any ideas?

not sure forum belongs in, sorry.

hi,

the best recommendation of course to upgrade or replace windows 98 computers. os no longer supported , lacks of important security measures needed.

you can use http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555038 as guideline on how configure server acces windows 98... bot no-one guarantee work up-to date 2003 server.

be sure configure ntml used on both client server
