hi,

according description, understanding cname(for web server) has been created on dns. cname works unc path, website can’t accessed cname error message connection refused.

try ping cname, if failed, use nslookup confirm name resolving of dns. open cmd, type command below , end enter:
nslookup <cname>

if can’t resolved, type command , each line end enter:
nslookup
set d2
<cname>

post result here.

if can ping cname, both dns , network connection work. may post on iis forum(http://forums.iis.net/) , confirm if related settings needed, or further support iis.

best regards,
eve wang
