how can find total fragmented space on vhdx? usual defrag c: -a -v not return fragmentation. if run defrag c: can see in pre-optimization report there total fragmented space value.

use free (for personal use) tool analyze individual file fragmentation:

http://www.passmark.com/products/fragger.htm

also make sure defragment both vhd(x) hosted os , actual vm inside vhd(x) these things totally independent. it's recommended have fixed rather dynamic vhd(x) performance. leave thin provisioning job deduplication engine.
