Migrating SBS 2003 to Dell Poweredge T110 Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Foundation
hi,
i have client sbs 2003 - acting file , sql server. no exchange or iis. best/easiest approach migrating new dell t110, came server 2008 r2 sp1 foundation preinstalled.
should full migration (reinstalling 2008 r2) or setup new server match functionality of old server (users, sql server, etc)?
the network consists of 1 server , 5 xp client machines.

before migrating windows server 2008 r2 foundation, need state support 15 user accounts can access , use server software.
to migrate windows small business server 2003 windows server 2008 r2 foundation, please follow steps below:
1.health checks on small business server 2003
2.join new windows 2008 server domain member server
3.prepare active directory windows 2008 r2 server
4.make windows 2008 r2 server domain controller of existing small business server 2003 domain
5.transfer dhcp service
6.migrate sharepoint services
7.migrate shared user data
8.uninstall exchange 2003 small business server 2003
9.transfer 5 fsmo roles windows 2008 domain controller
10.dcpromo sbs 2003 server no longer domain controller , remove network
