Problems with licensing "License server server1 does not have any installed licenses with the following attributes..."


i've installed license server on server1, , under servers | server1, shows "windows server 2008 or windows server 2008 r2: installed ts or rds per user cals" total licenses of 15. however, if go servers | server | windows server 2008 or windows server 2008r2: installed ts or rds per user cals", there isn't showing cals installed. can click link generate report, when so, brings remote desktop licensing manager. if attempt install licenses under server | server 1 | windows server 2008 or windows server 2008 r2, rd licensing manager states licenses installed. furthermore, when go server2 (which pointed server1 licensing server), says "license server server1 not have installed licenses following attributes: product version: windows server 2008 or windows server 2008 r2". 

can please point me in right direction? thanks

have set remote desktop licensing mode?

issue in case seems after installing license server, rd license server discovery not done , issue occurs due discovery of license server. must specify license server rdsh use. "configure license server rdsh server. if have existing license server, use rdsh configuration tool specify license server terminal server. otherwise, install rd licensing on computer on network."

to specify license server rd session host server use:

1.  on rd session host server, open remote desktop session host configuration. open remote desktop session host configuration, click start, point administrative tools, point remote desktop services, , click remote desktop session host configuration.

2. if user account control dialog box appears, confirm action displays want, , click yes.

3. in the edit settings area, under licensing, double-click remote desktop license servers.

4. on the licensing tab of properties dialog box, click add.

5. in add license server dialog box, select license server list of known license servers, , click add. if license server want add not listed, in license server name or ip address box, type name or ip address of license server want add, , click add.

you can add more 1 license server rd session host server use. rd session host server contacts license servers in order in appear in specified license servers box.

6. click ok close add license server dialog box, , click ok save changes licensing settings.
