Lingering Objects issue

have identified dc having lingering object, have ran repadmin in advisory mode returned event id 1942
number of objects examined , verified: 0

not getting event id 1946 proceed in deleting objects generate event id 1945.

when ran repadmin /removelingeringobject.... without advisory mode, event id 1939 generated.

still getting event 1988 on dc having lingering objects.

strict replication turned on in forest, these objects lingering not being replicated.

repadmin /resplsum still reporting below error: not on dcs:

(8606) insufficient attributes given create object. object may not exist because may have been deleted , garbage collected.

dnslint report cnames of dcs correctly , no errors...

suggestion?

dcs info are:

windows 2003 r2 forest = 2 dcs  forest , domain functional levels = 2003 parent , child

windows 2003 child = 22 dcs , 1 2008 r2 (recently introduced child domain)

thanks.

the best way deal lingering object demote dc showing lingering object symptom becasue difficult rid of lingering object if exists in read partition. other reason can troubleshoot issue sometime though repadmin /removelingeringobjects shows success still reside, better demote dc , re-configure again before lingering object spreads across forests.

you can try few references listed in below previous discussion, demoting , promotion better option instead of trying remove lingering object cumbersome job.
