How to configure Windows 2008 iSCSI Software intiator to enable failover on iSCSI Boot multipath configuration ?
i trying setup iscsi boot configuration on server 2 broadcom ports connected iscsi storage array. (iscsi offload not used on controller, software initiator used instead).
the 2 nic ports configured static iscsi ip parameters.
windows 2008 sp2 has been installed using first port.
then mpio has been configured support iscsi devices. second nic port has been connected array.
with iscsi initiator ui, session/connection created second path.
the question deals parameter "automatically restore connection when computer starts" in
the "log on target" dialog box.
- if "automatically restore ..." not set, path not automatically connected @ restart, not good
- if "automatically restore ..." set, if server reboots while first path has failed, boot firmware
opens session on second path, windows 2008 iscsi initiator re-opens second session on
same path, disturbs first session: system hangs or crashes.
i not see how correctly setup multipath iscsi boot configuration ?
