DNS setup for different NAT'ed network
hey all. have 2 nat'ed networks @ our corporation. have sysadmin manages corporate side , i'm comparable sysadmin test/dev network. corporate has nat'ed ip of 192.168.1.x , test/dev has 192.168.50.x. 192.168.1.x network has public-facing dns servers 205.x.x.x ip addresses. test/dev network can talk .1 , vice versa. have full vmware lab vcenter server , 6 esx servers maintained. 1 of problems vcenter we're unable launch console sessions directly virtual machines because don't have internal dns server setup. so, i'm needing setup dns server 50. network. server running windows 2008 r2 , i've created dns role on box. i'd know potential gotchas , how recommend configuring dns server, i.e. forward/reverse lookups, etc. i'd test/dev engineers [who using computers on corporate network (192.168.1.x)] able open vi client session vsphere vcenter server, launch console sessions virtual machines without having go each esx server individually launch same console sessions. also, extremely helpful able have them type hostname instead of ip other servers on network. i've setup active directory , added users on same server we're going using dns. need kick in right direction on how best implement this. dns expertise limited, although understand basic concepts of inner workings. any/all extremely helpful , please let me know if should include additional information. domain i've created under ad blah.dev. guess don't understand how ensure keep infringing on 192.168.1.x network, how avoid having mess hosts files on each of developers machines them type hostname boxes, etc.
