auto force password reset?

hello everyone,

i'm trying find solution force users change password before expire. default setting needs me re-establish desktop network connection , reset password before user can access workstation usual. (i'm not sure why password expiry affects network connection).  

is possible automatically force user change password when system detects password expire in x days? 

side question: has idea why network of user's workstation disconnected each time password expired?

there no builtin option achive that. maybe can use scripting solutions query ad on regular base the maxpasswordage , changes user account properties require user change password. belongs more scripting forum.

didn't use gpo settings alert user password expire in xx days, default 14 days?computer configuration-> windows settings -> security settings -> local > policies -> security options

which kind of network connections mean, access shared folders on servers?
