Allow a standard domain user to determine who has a file open
hello,
we have excel file several people open , edit, often someone leaves open on there desktop prevents else editing it.
i way standard domain users see has excel file open. come desk when can view open files through computer manager determine this, i'd staff able determine themselves. running windows server 2008 x64.
does know of way of acheiving this?

in excel, click on "tools" -> "share workbook".
the name of users appear under: "who has workbook open now".
additionally, can check "allow changes more 1 user @ same time". excel not open file in exclusive mode default, allowing changes save concurrently.
