VM loses network connection following Live Migration

i’m having issue after live migration vms intermittently losing network connectivity 90 seconds, returns without intervention. doesn’t seem matter hosts involved in live migration, although moving node 2 node 3 seems have less frequent issues.

4 node hyper-v cluster running w2012 r2 data center on dl580 gen8s. patched , recommended hyper-v , failover clustering hotfixes. i’m aware of issue intermittent connectivity broadcom 1gbps nics, believe resolved in drivers we’re using (latest broadcom – 17.2.0.0). additionally, vmq confirmed disabled on nics.

network setup on hosts:

hv_hm – single nic used host only. production network subnet

hv_csv – 2 nics teamed using lbfo. set lacp , dynamic. backend network on 192.168.5.0/24 subnet

hv_lm – 2 nics teamed using lbfo. set lacp , dynamic. backend network on 192.168.6.0/24 subnet

backup – single nic virtual switch bkup-net. management os allowed use. backend backup network on 192.168.1.0/24 subnet

vethernet (bkup-net) – virtual nic backing host. backend backup network on 192.168.1.0/24 subnet

vm – 2 nics teamed using lbfo. set switch independent , dynamic. virtual switch vm-net management os not allowed use. production network subnet

connections backend networks 1gbps cisco 3750 switches, managed our own networking team. these stacked. connections production network 100 mbps cisco 3750 switches, managed 3rd party. don’t know if 2 switches involved configured stack or not.

for vm team members on each host, nodes 1 & 2 have 1 team member on 1 switch , other team member on switch. nodes 3 & 4, vm team members on same switch.

if move vm has vnic on vm-net virtual switch , vnic on bkup-net virtual switch , have pings going both of ip addresses, bkup-net ip consistently responds. vm-net ip 1 drops after live migration; time out destination host unreachable, other times straight destination host unreachable.

if run arp -a before move can see mac vm. when has issue after migration, arp cache on host shows mac address while pings timing out, when changes destination host unreachable, ip , mac address vm not listed in cache.

the differences can think of between non-working vm-net connections , working bkup-net connections teaming mode of nics on host; , potentially port/switch configuration, black box me problematic vm-net connections.

my feeling switch configuration issue, i’m not sure settings have 3rd party check. has seen similar issue or have thoughts on how progress please?

the info got ports showing 'normal user mode configuration' , changed 'server ports'.
