powershell gpo startup script doesn't work on windows xp

i'm trying run powershell script @ startup gpo computers on ad domain (2008).

it works windows 7 pcs not windows xp.

i'm trying troubleshooting tested easy  script:

folder exist.
$destination = "c:\tmp\test\" new-item ($destination + "test.txt") -force -itemtype "file"

the win xp seems ignore script.

if run script manually works, create file.

i have tried set-executionpolicy bypass

disabled wifi (i read somewhere can cause problems) nothing.

is there way redirect script standard output (and error) eventviewer or file?

very important.   did use powershell scripts tab in gpo, or did use older 'scripts' tab , call batch file and/or powershell.exe arguments (path ps1 file)?      if click on 'powershell scripts' tab, @ bottom of window.   denote requires windows 7 or 2008 r2.      if case,  instead use 'scripts' tab , use 'powershell.exe' script name full unc path ps1 file 'script parameters'.

if above not case,  keep reading:

the powershell script might not problem, why asked abut path.  all you've done using more generic script know @ least powershell script shouldn't @ fault... absolutely test.

can post details of path script it's configured in group policy?    unc path what?  batch file calls powershell?   realize script you're using basic/generic, why i'm interested in how your'e calling it.

also guess should ask more specific gpo related questions also.  are sure policy being applied winxp machines doing gpresult on command line of machine?  and have ask becuase i've done before...    are accidentally using wmi filter exclude winxp reason... etc...?   gpresult confirm everything.  it either or not being applied.

edit: random thought.  are sure there no network differences between winxp machine , win7 machines?   same dns servers, same dns suffix search list, if used..... same wins server configuration?
