leaving a domain - data migration to local user
hi,
is user's data going safe if leave domain? under circumstances risk losing data have on computer? i'm trying computers out of domain belongs dc no longer have with. i'm little bit worried data loss , stuff that. should concerned , copying user's profile new local user enough migrate data smoothly? have several e-mail accounts configured, particular programs , on , forth.
thanks!
hi,
you not going lose data (as long profile indeed 100% local , not using folder redirection) logging on different (local) user not retain same user profile. backup profile usmt prior taking computer out of domain, restore new (local) user.
you might need adjust permissions on folders outside of user profile.
do verify have valid local administrator account known working password before remove computer domain.
