Error creating quotas.xml due to resource being in use (FSRM on MSCS cluster)

here's complete error message:

unexpected error.    operation:    enumerating quotas on system.  error-specific details:    error: createfilew(__?_volume{b5ec7f0c-08c2-11dc-a9e6-0017a4471f07}_system
volume information_srm_quota.xml, n--access), 0x800700aa, requested resource in use. "

this pops once every hour on 4 nodes in mscs cluster. able delete xml file , fsrm automatically re-created it, i'm still getting error message. i've looked high , low (internet , technet of course) , haven't found solution. has seen behavior before , if so, how able overcome it?

looks quotas *are* being applied, thankfully it's single volume that's having issue.

any appreciated.

hi bobby,

based on error message, seems fsrm not read files in system volume information\srm directories

can please make sure system account has full access quota.xml on volumes (quota.xml located inside hidden folder system volume information\srm)

also if configured file screening on disk local system able access disk, in case of cluster if file screening configured disk resource , if disk resource owned other cluster above error.

therefore, we need verify fsrm should configured disk resources owned/controlled server.

hope can helpful.
