Windows Server 2012 - Missing Default Domain Policy and Default Domain Controller Policy

new client kicked out old support company b/c of cluster migrating sbs windows 2012 standard. went add in gpos redirect documents users network folders , found lots of gpo objects missing. click on them in gpo objects list , file not found. 2 of these default domain policy , default domain controller policy. browsed sysvol directory on dc , confirmed indeed gone. i've read using dcgpofix replace them. since objects show in gpo objects list in group policy management, should delete them prior running dcgpofix or matter? tool overwrite them? can't there using gpm b/c there not default domain policy objects , fails.

ideas , or thoughts?

thanks

how many dc's? based on description i'm guessing it's one.

dcgpofix reset both of default policies , don't have delete them first.  however, might want check netlogon ensure policies folder still exists.  navigate "%systemroot%\windows\sysvol\domain\policies.  if not, recommend going through their backups try , find one full copy of sysvol , restored.
