Domain trust help

hello,

i have managed guide our french , italian office's create 2 way trust , works.  france have 2003 , 2008 dc's , italy on 2003 native, job done, can both add user accounts resources each others domains.

now need france , spain have 2 way trust.  spain's ad ffl 2000 native, have 2003 dc's.  2 way trust has been created , validated on both sides, france can see spains's users when attempting add them folder permissions, spain can't see france's.  when spain go add user france folder's permission, select france's domain , type users name in , not resolve name.  spain can't search.

what wrong?  need raise ffl 2003?  thought 2000 native ok.

with regard trusts, external trusts supported 2000 native domain.  a forest trust wouldnt be.  so should ok regard trust since created.  

 

are sure name resolution configured?  all of dcs in both domains can resolve host names in other domain?
