hi,

slow shutdown caused number of factors. here, list 3 common ones , corresponding troubleshooting steps reference:

1) clear pagefile @ shutdown option enabled.

when option enabled, causes system pagefile cleared upon clean shutdown. takes considerable time of operating system flush-out pagefile, causing slow shutdown. may disable clearpagefileatshutdown option improve shutdown times.

to disable it:

click start, run , type secpol.msc

click local policies | security options

in right-pane, set shutdown: clear virtual memory pagefile disabled

2)the applications , services can cause slow shutdown issue, because have complete serial of tasks before system shutdown, such releasing system resource hold, waiting response of other programs etc. in order solve kind of issue, suggest perform clean boot, shutdown system see if issue disappear.

about how perform clean boot:

1. on problematic server perform clean boot , check if issue still exists

1.1. click start->run...->type msconfig , press enter

1.2. click services tab , select hide microsoft services , disable third party services.

1.3. click startup tab , disable startup items

1.4. click ok , choose restart

1.5. after reboot, shutdown system see if issue disappear.

3)in domain environment, please check if there logoff scripts applied server. can source of slow or hanging shutdown processes.

i hope helps. if unclear or need further assistance, please post back.

best wishes
