Storage Spaces, "Stale Metadata"

i have storage pool 8 drives , 9 virtual disks (4 mirrored , 5 parity). after reinstalling os, 2 of disks won't come online. when running get-physicaldisk, both have healthstatus=warning, , operationalstatus=stale metadata. have no idea go here. ideas?

for who's stumbling past this, here's did bring data back.

  1. go "storage pools" configuration , set "available to" , "read-write server" server. @ least 1 of seems cleared , needs reset. unfortunately don't remember how did , option seems disabled or unavailable now. i'm pretty sure involved right clicking on storage pool though!
  2. for each of virtual disks you'll have go through following:
    a. right click it, click "attach virtual disk"
    b. right click again, click "repair disk"
    c. go "disks", right click disk, click "bring online"
    d. right click volume, click "manage drive letter , access paths..." (you might not have this, had reformat/reinstall well)
    e. right click volume, click "scan file system errors"

it's slow tedious process, should , running when you're done!
