KMS Issue - Re-enabling a KMS host that was previously disabled.
ok scenario this.
2 x windows 2012 r2 servers (recently upgraded 2012)
when 2012 in nov/dec 2013 had been setup kms hosts, working fine due issues many kms servers setup demoted them mak keys , removed _vlmcs locator records in dns....
its around point 2012 upgrade r2
so have tidied our kms infrastructure , want re-enable on these 2 servers....using slmgr have removed mak keys , re-added , activated kms host keys. slmgr /dlv output looks good.
but servers don't seem self registering in dns although they should do. don't seem attempting so.
really not sure happening here....
i know manually register srv _vlmcs record design server/service should this...
am hitting subtle hidden rule server demoted kms mak cannot setup kms again.
or issue 2012 r2 operating kms....
or other issue....
some ask things ... firewall.... not enabled....
other av/firewall products... has symantec endpoint installed if remove (to test) server still not dns register....
does have ideas might happening here !
thanks in advance !
