hyper-v virtual networks / virtual switches / vlans / question about isolating vm's
hello,
we have 3 clustered wink2k8r2 hosts each run multiple vm's. want of these vm's see each other, , others not see each other. of vm's need internet access (exchange, rdp) , don't. each host has 4 x iscsi nics not issue here, , 4 x lan nics lan & vm use. physical lan nics connected 1 physical switch - dell 5424. connected 5424 sonicwall in turn connects internet.
we know want do, not how it. basically, want vm's company1 see each other , nothing else, want of company 1's vm's have internet access too. same scenario true company2's vm's, company 3's vm's, company 4's vm's, , on. vm's each company spread across the 3 physical hosts, ie company1's vm's run on host1, host2, , host3.
hope makes sense , out there can steer in right direction.
hi nilocmal
need in order achive create vlans, build dedicated vlan each company example:
vlan 1 company 1 - vlan 2 company 2 , on, put physical nics truncked switch taged in each vlan thats how vms move between cluster hosts , @ same time reserve connectivity on networks.
on other hand need companys vms still have access internet can't access each other, mentioned solution give ability each vlan seperated otheres , can offsure give each 1 access enternet switsh
you can refer links more information on how configure vlans , how manage netwrks hyper-v prespective
