Publish Folder and ADFS: DNS and Certificate Requeriments


in environment where:

domain name: "corp.contoso.com"  <> smtp domain "contoso.com" <> ad fs server: server1.corp.contoso.com <> workfolder server: server2.corp.contoso.com

1) dns requirements public folder using adfs publishing them??

2) the certificate requirements public folder using adfs publishing them??

3) i've doubt how user access workfolders..... user1@contoso.com ?? user1@corp.contoso.com ??

4) happen user hasn't mail address ??

here certificate requirements work folders:

  • the certificate must issued trusted certification authority. work folders implementations, publicly trusted ca recommended, since certificates used non-domain-joined, internet-based devices.
  • the certificate must valid.
  • the private key of certificate must exportable (as need install certificate on multiple servers).
  • the subject name of certificate must contain public work folders url used discovering work folders service across internet – must in format of workfolders.<domain_name>.
  • subject alternative names (sans) must present on certificate listing server name each sync server in use.
